We have a number of young families who have made Beth Sar Shalom Brooklyn their home. Pouring into the lives of all of the youth and children that have been entrusted to our care is one of our core values. All of our teachers are gifted and passionate about teaching God’s truth to the next generation, and we carefully vet and train all staff with background checks, child safety training, and personal interviews.
We have three different classes that meet during our regular Shabbat service:
- Nursery: Children from 6 months to 4 years old meet for fun activities and Bible stories.
- Kids: Children ages 5-11 meet for fun Bible-based teachings and activities. The lessons and curricula incorporate Hebrew lessons, teachings based on the parsha, learning the Shema, and learning what it means to follow Yeshua.
- Youth: Our teen group is for kids ages 12-16. Together we help our students prepare for adulthood and life as a Messianic follower of Yeshua. We often deal with big-picture questions, objections, and issues that our youth are sure to encounter as they grow. We also help train some of these young people for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebrations when appropriate.
Our congregation is also heavily involved with youth ministry outside of Brooklyn! A number of our leaders and members and kids attend Camp Kesher—Chosen People Minsitries’ one-week sleep-away camp in Honey Brook, PA every summer. Learn more at campkesher.net!
